Since 1992, IMTD has initiated and facilitated various conflict resolution and conflict transformation projects in troubled regions in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Currently, we are involved in the countries listed underneath:

COLOMBIA

IMTD is involved in Colombia through its Score For Peace Program, which combines soccer with vocational training and other peacebuilding activities. Our main partner in Colombia is AC Milan, one of the most successful professional soccer clubs in the world. Read more…

IMTD has a conflict resolution training and a development workshop currently in progress to focus on transforming relations between the United States and Cuba. Read more…


GEORGIA

At the moment, IMTD is designing two conflict resolution training projects in Georgia, one of which is for community leaders related to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Crude Oil and South Caucasus Pipeline Projects. The other is meant for business leaders from Georgia and Abkhazia with the long term goal of establishing a Peace Zone in the region. Read more…

INDIA

IMTD’s main current activities in India include establishing a Peace Corridor between Sikh shrines across the Indo-Pak border and being actively involved in solving the Kashmir conflict.

LIBYA

IMTD has negotiated with the leadership of a leading Major League Soccer club and the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) to arrange home-and-away matches between the club and the Libyan National Soccer Team. Read more…

LIBERIA

Most recently, IMTD’s involvement in Liberia has consisted of training the country’s diplomats in Conflict Resolution in2008-2009. In the future, we also hope to make the country to the African center of our Score For Peace program.

NEPAL

In 2001, NGO’s from Nepal approached IMTD to help with the issue of the Maoist insurgency. Since then, we have provided two trainings there and are looking forward to establish further projects in the fields of conflict resolution and trauma healing. Read more…

PAKISTAN

IMTD’s main current activities in Pakistan include establishing a Peace Corridor between Sikh shrines across the Indo-Pak border and being actively involved in solving the Kashmir conflict. In addition, in 2007, Ambassador McDonald and Dr. Borris trained 50 local parliament members in Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding in Islamabad.

SOMALIA

IMTD has been involved in Somalia since 1997, mainly by organizing a Somali Dialogue group for Somalis living in the DC area to discuss their homeland’s current state and future. Read more…

TIBETAN GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY IN EXILE
